1 Inch diameter black malleable pipe nipples have heat and corrosion resistant properties that make it especially useful for natural gas, oil, air or hot water and steam heating systems. They are solidly made for long lasting durability and dependability. Black malleable pipe nipples are not recommended for use with potable water applications.
Black pipe is also known as black iron pipe and black steel pipe. It is similar to galvanized pipe, but is not galvanized treated to be rust resistant. It is coated and slightly slippery to the touch.
