Shipping Charges and Shipping Policy

UPS and FedEx:
In all 50 States HardwareAndTools.com uses a live zoned look-up for UPS and FedEx shipping rates. The prices we charge are the published UPS or FedEx rate, including the carriers fuel surcharges, based on our estimated packed or dimensional weight. Surcharges due to dimensions or weight as marked on selected products and included. From our Shopping Cart simply enter your postal code to get a freight quotation. At checkout, enter a carrier qualified business address as your ship to and the residential rates quoted in the estimate will be replaced with lower Commercial Rates. Home based business do not qualify for Commercial Rates.

USPS Priority Mail:
We offer USPS Priority Mail an alternate shipping method, primarily for PO Boxes, Military Addresses, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and some rural areas. The USPS tends to be very costly on heavier shipments. Postal packages DO NOT track well en route. We supply a delivery confirmation number on domestic non APO USPS Priority Mail. We include an insurance fee in our charges for USPS orders. The maximum package weight is 70 lbs.

SmartPost or SurePost:
In order to economically deliver lower weight packages to PO Boxes and residential consumers, SmartPost and SurePost utilize the United States Postal Service® (USPS) for final delivery to every Continental US PO Box and postal street address. Rather than delay packages which are non track-able on route via Parcel Post, SmartPost and SurePost use FEDEX and UPS to bring 1 pound plus small packages to regional post offices for local delivery. Estimated delivery dates after shipping are available online but cannot be guaranteed. Very light packages, under 13 oz., may be shipped by First Class Mail or Priority Mail, even if SmartPost/SurePost is selected.

Basic Economy Shipping
Basic Economy Shipping is our lowest cost shipping service for light weight orders under $50. There is a $3.50 per shipment charge plus 22¢ per ounce for shipments under 12 ounces. On orders over 12 ounces there is a base charge of $5.49 plus 80¢ per pound in the 48 States. DO NOT select Basic Economy if your order is time sensitive as it may delay your order by a few days. Orders are staged so that overnight and second day orders ship ahead of Ground and Priority Mail Orders. The slowest methods to select are Basic Economy and Freight Saver, which ship last. Basic Economy is available for orders placed online only.

Freight Saver or Free Shipping
At $50 our Freight Saver Allowances and/or Free Shipping begins. We charge 80¢ per lb with no base shipping charge as a flat rate for shipping to 99% of the street addresses in the 48 Contiguous States. We automatically allow FREE SHIPPING of the first 10 pounds in the East, 6.25 pounds Central and 5 pounds West.
You can Mix and Match various products in your cart and lighter higher value items offset others to save you on shipping. Certain heavier products, such as nails and fertilizer, are specially marked and do not earn any shipping allowance. At checkout, we calculate every US address, both residential and commercial, and offer the current published UPS/FedEx Ground Rate, without adder, in addition to Freight Saver. Freight Saver is only available to street addresses in the 48 Contiguous States.*
*A $2 Delivery Area Surcharge is added to some rural zip codes, about 1% of the US Population.

Freight Saver - Eastern States:
The first 10 pounds ship free at $50. For each added $10 in qualified merchandise, 2 additional pounds ship free. This allows 20 pounds of Free Shipping per $100 ordered. Our 22 Eastern States and Districts are CT, DC, DE, GA, IN, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VT, VA, and WV.

Freight Saver - Central States:
The first 6.25 pounds ship free at $50. For each additional $10 in qualified merchandise, 1.25 additional pound ships free. This allows 12 pounds of free shipping per $100 ordered. Our 15 Central States are AL, AR, FL, IL, IO, KS, LA, MN, MS, MO, NE, ND, OK, SD, and WI.

Freight Saver - Western States:
The first 5 pounds ship free at $50. For each added $10 in qualified merchandise, 1 additional pound ships free. This allows 10 pounds of free shipping per $100 ordered. Our 12 Western States are AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NV, NM, OR, TX, UT, WA, and WY.

Freight Saver will appear as an option in your shopping cart on orders of $50 or more whenever it is lower than the actual zoned Ground UPS/Fedex Rate. We scan all rates including Commercial Rates if you ship to a recognized non-home-based business address. DO NOT select Freight Saver if your order is time sensitive as it may delay your order by a few days. Orders are staged so that overnight and second day orders ship ahead of Ground and Priority Mail Orders. The slowest methods to select are Basic Economy and Freight Saver, which ship last. Freight Saver orders are packed on a time and space available basis without overtime at the lowest cost service by our choice of carrier(s). Freight Saver is available for orders placed online only. Customer Service cannot make it available on phone orders under $100. Certain products are Not qualified for a Freight Saver Allowance. You may save, depending on the weight and your shipping zone, by checking out unqualified items separately.

Orders shipping to Canada
Canadian orders are subject to VAT, duty and brokerage charges, not included in our shipping charges on site. The customer is responsible for VAT, duty and brokerage fees. Smaller orders shipping to Canada may ship by US Postal Service who connects with Canada Post and charges VAT and duty only, saving you brokerage fees. DO NOT ORDER ITEMS BANNED BY CANADIAN CUSTOMS, i.e. insecticides. It is the customer's responsibility for confiscated items. If uncertain about the legality of a product in your locale, check first.

INTERNATIONAL LARGE COMMERCIAL ORDERS: Our contract department does ship large Commercial Quotation Orders to your US freight forwarder. However all orders must be prepaid in US funds and require a US contact phone number for delivery arrangements.
