You must request a Return Authorization (RA) before sending back any products. No credit will be issued without an RA.
RAs must be requested within 15 days from order and arrive at our warehouse within 25 days of our ship date. Only new re-saleable merchandise in its original retail packaging can be returned. Delayed returns may not be credited. Products torn off cards, used or re-taped will be discarded with no credit issued.
Returns of "Rapid Ship Warehouse" products priced at our "Everyday Low Price" are credited for the amount of merchandise in full, less any freight saver subsidies or freight allowances applied to the order. The customer is responsible for freight both ways.
Returns of "Hot Buys Warehouse" and "Rapid Ship Warehouse" products priced at "Limited Time Only" or "Our Quantity Price" (shown on site as "Purchase # or more" or "Sold only in cases") are credited for the amount of merchandise less a 15% return handling charge, less any freight saver subsidies or freight allowances applied to the order. The customer is responsible for freight both ways. Returns of items sold in "Quantity Packs Only" must be in multiples of that quantity.
Returns of "Alternate Warehouse or "Backup Warehouse" items are credited for the amount of merchandise less a 15% return handling charge, less any freight saver or basic economy subsidies or freight allowances applied to the order. The customer is responsible for freight both ways. Items sold in "Quantity Packs Only" must be returned in multiples of that quantity.
Items that are marked "Special Order - No Returns" are not returnable. Items that are given a special quotation price are not returnable. Items shown as "Out of Stock" that we secure for you from an alternate warehouse are not returnable.
Orders shipped at "Freight Saver or Basic Economy" may have been freight subsidized. The amount of subsidy applied is listed in the checkout cart. Credits are issued less any freight saver subsidies or freight allowances applied to the order. It may not be worthwhile to return large, bulky or heavy items where additional packing or shipping costs are involved.
Please fill out a "Request for Return" form in our Customer Service Portal. We process such requests Monday through Friday between 8:15 AM and 4:15 PM Eastern Time. Remember to get your RA before sending back any products. Returns must be made to the address shown on the RA. A copy of the RA and the packing slip from your order together with the reason for return must accompany the return. Orders returned without proper documentation are subject to a $10 documentation fee.
If there is a quality problem: Hardware and Tools buys only first quality merchandise from reputable suppliers and lists the "Brand" and Manufacturers" names on site. We solicit and gladly post the reviews for all to see. We pick up and replace defective products if the manufacturer's policy approves and only when notified within 15 days of shipment. Damages in transit should be reported within 3 days of receipt. Licensing laws require defective DVDs be replaced with a new sealed copy of the same DVD only. Manufacturers of appliances, power tools, gas operated tools, electronics and more may require certain goods be serviced. We are not responsible for any freight charges in excess of standard ground. The selection of any optional Air or Expedited Service in original or replacement orders is at your expense and risk. Do not return goods to us that are not new and resalable. If we shipped the wrong product or an item is damaged in transit, please fill out our Wrong Item or Damage Form.
