I am looking for the dimensions of the hanger. Specifically the depth of the tab that has the 3 holes in it.

I will be using this to hang a 3" wide barn door from. I am curious what happens when it's eccentrically loaded (not in the middle of the top of the door).
    Cheers!

The door you are talking about, I think, is 3 inches "thick". Remember you have a 450 lb weight limit to deal with. The trolly doesnt have to be on center with the door but it may hang away from the short side. If the door is very heavy, say, over 200 lbs, it may cause some stress on the tab but the trolly will swivel and wont be stressed. My outside barn doors are 2 1/2 inches with the sheathing installed and two of these trollys (one set) slide a 12 foot wide, 14 foot tall door with no problem, since 1985.

We are planning a sliding barn door 5 feet wide for a shed. What hardware do I need in addition to the box rail hangers and a rail (is 10 feet long correct for the rail?)? Are there some diagrams that show what is needed and how to install? Thanks.

Hi there...we just used these and the door needs to be 3 inches thick. 2 1/2 inches would leave a gap between the door and the wall. hope this helps!

its supposed to. Saves a bunch by buying on line even with the shipping.

We purchased these hangers and the rest of the parts to construct a hanging door for our newly built woodshed. This is an exceptional product in every way. After we finished the door I couldn't help sliding it back and forth several times... ...it works and looks great just like we wanted it too.
